RPNF Marlene Fitzsimmons Grant
Marlene Fitzsimmons was a long time leader in clinical practice at the Brandon Mental Health Centre and in the community psycho-social rehabilitation program. She was the founder and first president of the RPNF. She was the first registered psychiatric nurse to receive an honorary degree from a Canadian University (Brandon University).
This grant is awarded to a RPN registered in Canada who is enrolled in a relevant certificate course, or who has been accepted as a presenter at a conference that requires them to travel. Minimum value $500.00.
RPNF Indigenous Studies Grant
This grant is awarded to a Registered Psychiatric Nurse in Canada who can show evidence of engagement in Indigenous cultural learning relevant to the TRC’s Call to Action. Activities include, but are not limited to, formal coursework, attendance at ceremony, or ongoing learning from Indigenous communities. This grant will be awarded to those who are not able to access the cost of learning through other means such as their employer/regional health authority or union. Expenses shall be reimbursed to a maximum of $300.00.
